Dear @Dtube #70 // holy moly, byteball really is a cool little thing, used the exchange bot to btc yesterday too, some positives in the negatives.

a little vlog about byteball today, yep still buzzing about it and I’ve had a bit more of a play with some of the different bots that are in the store — have you played with it anymore than just receiving the airdrop?

attested my kyc

So the first thing I did was setup the ‘know your customer’ — it’s a simple bot to connect you to jumio (a verification web service for your passport id) to handle taking photos of your passport and photo of you and then once verified they hand that back to the bot service to say yes or no — it cost me about $5 after all the steem user discount and I got $8 back and $12 in a smart contract as well.

Something cool about sitting your real world id privately in a DAG, the extra notion of maths and the ability to log into my ID if I lost my ID as proof of that being me backed up by MATHS really agrees to me! :)

Either way it was really easy and straight forward, both myself and @dayleeo did it because a) extra bytes but b) because you have to test these things out — all in all so far the experience with the wallet has been interesting to me, I also did some betting, I’m not sure of the result yet so I have to login and see what happened with that! :)

helped set-up @dayleeo got bytes for that

So over discord audio chat I walked @dayleeo through the process of getting her all setup to claim her rep 60+ tokens (worth $80 people, leaving money on the table if you don’t claim em) which literally took 5/10 minutes to do — dayle remarked how smart the integration was with the ‘bubble’ native chat that someone say on facebook would understand how to use.

exchanged bytes to btc via exchange

So it’s all well and good that I’ve got these bytes but really what do they do if they set in that account, I could just leave them there but it feels like another wallet I need to be concerned about — after receiving all my funds and doing all these things I did an off drive full backup so I have my ‘wallet’ if anything should happen to my main drive, I’m gonna put that on a usb stick as well.

Anyway, I transferred $50 out using the bot store exchange and send that to local bitcoins, it worked flawless and this morning byteball effectively has paid for my breakfast in the analog real world powering this body and medication in that I used some of the funds to get my inhaler — your feeding and saving lives byteball, you should be proud — who knew that maths equations could bring so much order to the world as we live out the greatest expression of global basic income ever seen!

even verified my .ee email address.

I completely gapped this at first and totally forgot that I had an Estonian email address as part of my eresidency card but after someone read my twitter profile and saw ‘Estonia’ mentioned in my location profile they said I should add it — luckily I had already setup a forwarder on that so I did that and got the additional payout for linking that up as well! :)

I won a little contest bet! :)

Very cool little bot, a betting on sports fixtures bot, you could become seriously addicted to this little thing — I put on an extremely small bet because you know first time and everything and well it won anyway so I got 1.63 x times back (like $0.18 lol) but it works great — it put the funds in a ‘smart contract’ I believe and then I had to step through and transfer the funds back out to my account, either way it was straight forward and easy.

They sent me this video to step through to go through the process of getting my funds out — I’ll certainly be doing that again — this stuff is cool! :)

Seeing byteball getting a little bit of flack for the abuse and spammers over the last few days with the greed and robots out there. always gonna be a problem in these crypto arenas. people don’t realise the amount of corruption and greed that already goes on in the world I think sometimes — it’s a constant fight against scammers and spammers.

that’s just the way the world has always been, now it’s even more faceless and currency is digital value, 1’s and 0’s — maybe it’s just the global reaction to generations of frustrating with the squeezing of our governments and lack of trickle down economies, who knows.

All I know is that digital payments and crypto value is here to stay, it’s not going anywhere and if you regulate or try and slow it down you just drive it deeper underground, that’s just the nature of the human condition — personally things like blockchains, especially this DAG are highly compelling to me and the way they have put together the ‘chat’ bot element inside of the wallet is fantastic. Sensible even.

Anyway, I’d still tell you to check out byteball because it’s awesome regardless of the airdrop, it just took me some bytes to really play with it more but that’s like anything in life right? :)

Peace,
T E A M H U M B L E x
