While reading through the official byteball site this morning as a result of friends complain on his inability to get bytes after his registration. Here is the detailed of what I got from the site as the reason
"To combat the abuse, the following rule changes are in effect immediately:
*To be eligible for rewards the to be attested Steem account must have been created on July 12, 2018 or earlier;
*Accounts created after July 12 can still refer other users and earn referral rewards, just not attestation rewards;
*Rewards for the rep 30–40 and 40–50 brackets have been halved to combat the profitability of buying upvotes to boost your reputation.
I commend the board for such a bold step as that is the only way to stop the so called actors who are manipulating the system, but in punishing the unjust, the just would suffer the consequences too.
Their are new and genuine users out there that would be denied this opportunity as a result of punishing the scammers.
As noted in the changed rules that those that registered after June 12, the official lunched day of byteball are not eligible for the rewards. Well, this is good to stop the scammers but very bad for those genuine users who are just coming to the system.
Normally, their is no day new users are not been added to the steemit community. I know how many people that have joined the platform through me not to mention other great steemian that are working tirelessly to ensure many more people join the platform. So, stopping the rewards out rightly would only deprived the new and genuine users their tactics of the bytes.
This is my suggested solution, it might not be perfect, but is far better than the one implemented.
1.Account must be at least 40 in reputation
The account must be at least 2 months old
Their must be a certain number of posts and comments made by the account before it can be qualified.
