B&W Photo Contest - Architecture Entry #7 (Grand Central Terminal)

This is part of the Beaux-Arts facade of Grand Central Terminal. This sculptural group of Roman Gods that surround an intricate clock is a work by the artist Jules Alexis Coutan. It is entitled Transportation.

Mercury stands in the middle, seated to his left is Hercules, and Minerva is to the right.

Mercury, who sports a winged cap, represents speed. Hercules represents strength, of course. And Minerva represents wisdom.
