Day 6, After the Blockchain Freeze...

Depending on time-zones and what you were able to access after the chain freeze today is day six as the Steem Community tries to find a new normal after HF21/22.

I've seen some smaller accounts cheering and saying they are receiving more organic votes than ever before and some are still feeling the pain. Yesterday I saw some celebrating and today I've even seen one "Rage Quit". I don't pretend to have an extensive view of all the reactions, but I do want to say, most of us haven't adjusted to a new normal yet and neither has the blockchain. Many of the blockchain's calculations are built on averages over time and since tomorrow will be the first payouts after we have adjusted back up to normal use levels, the blockchain and most of us users have not adjusted yet.

While I fully acknowledge that if you have been using Steem as income or even supplemental income these are stressful times, I also want to say, most are still experimenting with their activity and votes to see what the changes actually mean to us.

And again, the blockchain hasn't had time to react to any behavior changes.

The following statistical graphs are from @arcange's stats posted today. You can find them here.

The above graph is 30 days of active and unique users and you can see the usage has returned to prefork levels with a clear dip while the chain was frozen.

Our monthly averages are still on a downtrend:

Which seems to be trending mostly with price and I am sure was a bit impacted by the downtime.

In discord and other conversations,I still see people attempting to figure out what types of activity are good and bad for their posts, earning, curation efforts.

In this graph, it looks like after the freeze we quickly resumed normal prefork activity.

It's too soon to tell, however, if you know or are a legitimate content creator who is struggling to adapt to the changes, link me a before and after post in the comments below so we can consider finding support for those who may be challenged.

I continue to feel our community is the most important asset we have and that having a group of social landing pages to help people get involved in crypto is one of our strongest assets.

What I know for sure. Bidbot usage is way down and downvoting is up. In theory that should be good for the average content creator.

Be patient, don't panic... behavior and the blockchain are still adjusting.
