Knowing Sea Elephants Seals

The sea elephant spends most of its time biologically at sea, though occasionally it rises to the mainland. This mammal can hold its breath for about 120 minutes, longer than any non-cetacean mammal animal.

This animal has a very large body. The size of the male sea elephant body can reach 5 meters with a weight of about 2,700 kg. While the size of the body is smaller, which is about 3 m long and weighs 900 kg. Usually, the size of the southern elephant body is larger than the northern sea elephants. Noted, the male southern sea elephant can reach 6 meters long and weighs about 4,000 kg (4 tons).

The shape of his nose is large and prominent, much like the elephant's trunk. However, his body resembles a seal. Therefore, he is named with a sea elephant or an elephant seal.

In his natural habitat, it is primarily marine mammals that are sea fish, cuttlefish, shrimp squid and mussels.
