Hemp Biodegradable Plastic a Reality!

We at From A to Z would like to applaud Bruce Perlowin and his company Hemp Inc. for making moves in Hemp textile production.

As you might remember in From A to Z’s business blog, we have been pushing forward on Hemp paper production while offering digital media services to lessen the burden on forest products.

However, global plastic production represents another clear and present danger to the environment.

At this time, a large plastic patch resides in the Pacific Ocean. On many islands in the area birds feed on plastic from every corner of the globe, and when these birds die, their remains yield this non biodegradable trash to the environment once again.

Current petroleum based plastic never returns to a natural state. It just gets smaller and smaller forever plaguing our world with bacteria, toxins, and viruses.

There are major ocean cleaning initiatives costing nonprofits millions of dollars. Even with these amazing humanitarian efforts the amount of garbage that needs to be picked up remains overwhelming.

Some environmentally conscious cities have banned plastic bags at grocery stores to help keep them from ending up in our natural surroundings. Unfortunately, these good gestures are once again too few and far between.

Even with increased awareness at landfills, and efforts to recycle, large amounts of waste still end up in nature where wild animals fear to tread.

Humans on planet Earth want convenience. Our society forces us to buy material goods for consumption then throw the packaging of these products away.

How can we continue to exist in this way while preserving the planet for future generations?

Answer, we use Hemp plastics.

Hemp plastics are biodegradable. This doesn’t mean you can throw a plastic cup into the river. No, we still need to continue our efforts to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Only when that plastic cup slips through the cracks of Recology we can be reassured that the plastic will biodegrade back into a natural state in harmony with the Mother Earth.

Hemp plastic does for consumer packaging what the Impossible Whopper does to fast food. It makes it possible to continue the habits of our society while addressing the problems of our society.

Thank you,
