Cain killed his brother Abel: "Listen! Your brother's blood cries out to me from the ground" Genesis 4:10

The Bible teaches us that from the very beginning of humanity, men had to choose between two paths: we sin or we live righteously, our neighbor matters or not. And the example of this spiritual truth is the story of Cain and his brother Abel, who were children of Adam and Eve in the book of Genesis.
The Bible tells us that Cain and Abel presented their offerings to God, and Abel's offering pleased God and Cain's did not. Cain murdered his brother out of envy and jealousy; and not only that, in psychological terms Cain killed his brother because the mere presence of his brother was unbearable for him, in such a way, that with his death the oblivion of his existence also would come, Cain was a profoundly dark person, focused only in his own needs. And God who is wise and merciful rejected Cain's sin and cursed him: "The LORD said, ´What have you done? Listen! Your brother's blood cries out to me from the ground. Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand" Genesis 4:10-11. After this God put a mark on Cain: "Then the LORD put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him" Genesis 4:15.
Good and evil are choices we can't avoid, are we uplifting, benevolent, and progressive, or are we chaotic, unjust, and destructive: "God in the beginning created human beings and made them subject to their own free choice" Ben Sira 15:14.
Sin distances us from God, but on the other hand, righteousness (golden rule, Matthew 7:12) brings us closer to the true spiritual life of man, the contemplative life, the meditation focused in the divine attributes of God. God does not want evil for man, but in the Bible, God warns us that every path we choose implies a different retribution, if we want to achieve the true happiness, we always have to take others into account, sin is deeply painful and benefits no one, light and darkness debate within us.
