Braai is a word used by South Africans that is associated with the word barbecue however as a South African, the difference for me is that a braai uses charcoal as a source of heat whilst to me a barbecue means a gas braai.
My personal opinion is that charcoaol braais are the best. #ProudlySouthAfrican
