For some reason this flower attracts a vast number of tourists to our area when they are in full bloom. The juvenile plant will follow the sun when the flower begins to open, when the plant has matured the flower ceases to follow the sun and "Bows" it's head as it does as darkness closes in. It is grown mainly for fodder in our area and the seeds are often fed to stock. But this does not deter people from coming to see the sea of yellow during the growing season. Good article, I like the use in radiation absorption, had not read of that.
