Understanding the Importance of Order and Hierarchy in Society

Establishment of a Top, Middle, and a Bottom

source

There has always been a hierarchy in society, and it’s been in place for this long because it has kept the society intact through a ‘group sanity mental state’. There are the rich people, who are considered both successful and influential due to their financial wealth. The middle-class is where the average citizen lies, where they stay afloat through everyday costs and scrounge together a little spending money for enjoyment and hobbies. The bottom would be the poverty class, where they struggle greatly to make ends meet and typically have a hard time living. It’s strange that it has become a normal mindset to judge one’s success in life through their financial situation and how much money they have.

What an Idealistic Society sounds like for most People

If you would ask the average person the question, “What would the ideal society look like to you?”, most of the time you would hear that it would be idealistic when no one is poor and everyone in general is happy. Ideally there would no one who would be under financial distress.

Furthermore, social inequality would be completely eradicated and whatever resource that is available to society should be distributed evenly, whether they are rich or poor.

Why it’s Necessary for there to be a Hierarchy

An individual feels the happiest when they have succeeded in life, and for most people, it is going to be when they defied all the odds, and rose from the lower financial class. People that have started off poor will feel great happiness becoming rich rather than just starting off rich and ending rich. This lower class is necessary for individuals to feel success.

Now don’t get me wrong. I am not justifying all the poor financial situations that people would be in today. It would be a great problem if the governmental institutions prevented the poverty class from advancing up in the social ladder. The idealistic society would grant equal opportunities for work and success to everyone, rich or poor. If that is the case, then it is up to them whether they have the discipline and drive for success to climb the ladder and reach the top.
