You know what's wild? That God doesn't love us because we're good. He loves us because He IS love. That's the whole thing. It's not about what we do or don't do, it's about who He is. And that changes everything.
I spent so many years thinking I had to earn it. Like, if I prayed more, read my Bible more, went to church more... then maybe God would be happy with me. But that's not how it works. That's religion, not relationship.
God's love is not like human love. Human love has conditions, limits, breaking points. But God's love? It doesn't end when we fail. It doesn't grow cold when we make mistakes. It's a love that persists, that restores, that always gives a new chance.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
Sabés lo que me voló la cabeza? Que Dios no nos ama porque somos buenos. Nos ama porque ÉL ES amor. Eso es todo. No depende de lo que hagamos o dejemos de hacer, depende de quién es Él. Y eso cambia todo.
Pasé un montón de años pensando que tenía que ganármelo. Como que si oraba más, leía más la Biblia, iba más a la iglesia... capaz Dios iba a estar contento conmigo. Pero no funciona así. Eso es religión, no relación.
El amor de Dios no se parece al amor humano. El amor humano tiene condiciones, límites, puntos de quiebre. Pero el amor de Dios no se acaba cuando fallamos, no se enfría cuando nos equivocamos. Es un amor que persiste, que restaura, que siempre da una nueva oportunidad.
Porque de tal manera amó Dios al mundo, que ha dado a su Hijo unigénito, para que todo aquel que en él cree no se pierda, mas tenga vida eterna.
