Ilocano|What Is Laeng?

Being the third most largest spoken language or some prefer dialect in the Philippines, it isn't surprising that Ilocano attracts learners. So I decided to why not include some posts about Ilocano words as well in addition to Filipino words I am sharing on the platform. So what is laeng or what does laeng means in Ilocano?

Laeng is the Ilocano for the English word just or for fellow Filipinos speaking Tagalog, the Ilocano laeng means lang.
Let's have examples using laeng in Ilocano with Tagalog and English translations.

Examples
Ilocano: Daytoy laeng?
English: Just this?
Tagalog: Ito lang?

Ilocano: Kaririing ko laeng.
English: I just woke up.
Tagalog: Kagigising ko lang.

Word pronunciation in Ilocano is a little different and using the word syllables for la-eng wouldn't help much with this word's proper pronunciation so here I included a video lesson with Ilokano or Ilocano phrases where laeng is properly pronounced.
