The flag of Peru!

The flag of Peru is one of the most important national symbols of the country as it symbolizes the struggle, the past, the ideals and traditions of an entire nation reaching the present and hoping for a better future in every way.

It is important to reflect on the Peruvian flag, as it is not only a symbol but a representation of all Peruvians before other nations, as well as in their own country. It contains the colors and characteristics that reflect the identity and union of the people having as key points equality, prosperity and respect.

The celebration of the day of the flag in Peru is June 7 and not only the flag is celebrated as such but it commemorates the anniversary of the Battle of Arica, which occurred on the same day in 1880 between Chile and Peru whose victory the first country. These two important aspects that are celebrated throughout the country whose main objective is to remember all those brave men who fought to defend Peru and its flag.

Due to the above, such is the importance of respecting and loving their national patriotic symbols that on August 28 of every year is celebrated the procession of the flag in the city of Tacna.

Meaning

Some historians point out that the red color of the flag of Peru forms part of this one because it was the war color of the Incas, in addition to symbolizing the blood spilled by the heroes and martyrs who fought to defend their country and its people. As for the color white, it represents freedom, justice, purity of feelings and peace of the whole nation.
