The National Land Service of Great Britain is considering the possibility of using blockchain technology to maintain the land cadastre.
"On the instructions of the government, the land cadastre needs to become digitized in order to be more customer-oriented. In the near future, the land register will begin testing the Digital Street project, which will allow buyers to purchase property almost instantaneously, and the Land Cadastre to store more detailed data. Blockchain is one of the basic technologies that will be tested within the framework of this initiative, "says the document of the national land cadastre.
Despite the fact that it is not yet clear when and on what platforms the testing will be conducted, the state understands the advantages of using blockchain in this area.
Several countries, including Switzerland, Brazil and the United States, are already testing the use of a detachable unit for real estate registration.
