The Crypto Gods Have Spoken...I'm back on Steemit!

I've always been a person who believes in signs, and every time I follow them...interesting things happen.

I've been in the bitcoin community for a long time but honestly didn't have a true appreciation for its potential, and no one I knew ever gave me an explanation of what exactly the blockchain is or how it works that was dumbed down enough for me to fully understand until recently. All that being said, from 2011 to 2014 I had bitcoin periodically and spent it with merchants who accepted it. I saw it as a way to contract with other free humans and to subvert the Federal Reserve system; so I would accept it as payment for concert performances and merchandise. In 2014 the phone my blockchain wallet was on died and I had no idea how to retrieve it, so out of indifference over the $137 of bitcoin in the wallet and sheer willful ignorance - I let it go.

Fast forward 3 years. I get invited to perform and speak at the Nexus Earth Conference in Aspen, CO in September 2017 and get unbelievably inspired by the Nexus team and their three dimensional blockchain platform. Bitcoin explodes all over the place and I hear a voice say: Go find that blockchain wallet.

After an exhaustive search for the login information for a wallet I wasn't sure even still existed, I opened up the wallet to find that the $137 from 2014 had turned into a whole lot more! My wife and I did a celebration dance and I couldn't help but feel that this was just the first piece in a puzzle. That night my wife was in bed reading and had turned on Netflix. On screen was the image for a little documentary called "Banking on Bitcoin." I asked her if she planned to watch it and she said she was just waiting for me. Then the movie mysteriously started playing on its own, and we shared a look that said “Ok we NEED to watch this.” I was surprised to discover that I knew quite a few of the people in the film and overall I found that I understood blockchain so much more after watching it.

So I get two signs in one day telling me that crypto is going to play a major part in my life from here on. The universe had spoken.

Fast forward a month and then : Enter @FrankBacon. A very strange and wonderful character who I have recently found a true friend in starts talking to me about his extreme love of Steemit. I happened to have a Steemit account but hadn’t used it in a year and @franklyspeaking, just like blockchain, I never really understood how it all worked anyway. I did a few posts a year ago and again, I let it go. Frank’s immense love of the Steemit blockchain for publishing his sci-fi work motivated me to dig out an old laptop and retrieve the key to log in which I thought I had lost. Frank shared with me step by step the ins and outs of Steemit, how to share my content effectively, how to transfer funds, use Steem Power, and generally rethink social media altogether! Why isn't the whole world on Steemit?

So here I am in my triumphant return to Steemit, having followed the signs and listened to the celestial whisperings in my ear, and I am grateful to all who enjoy my content. I’m an anarchist, a Christian, a husband, a father of 6 liberty kids (soon to be 7) , a musician, political dissident, a lover of freedom for all humans, and a believer that the blockchain is the most important invention of the century to liberate the world!
