The ever increasing demand on people to be “professionals” with quality skillset has over the years resulted in a lot of profile “paddy” or “tailoring”. Employers started having the challenge of managing the people on their payroll because quite a number do not really possess the skillset they claim to have or out rightly forged either their job experiences, skillset or educational background, which was why they were employed in the first place. Some employers even have to let go of their staff because even after getting attestations from the cited referee’s, they are not satisfied with the employee. One the flip side, employers apply for jobs to Organizations they think will help them attain greater heights and become better professional but often find out, after employment, that the professional profile of the company all a hoax. This big problem of “packaging” or “branding” has thus, created a need for genuine verification and authentication process of an individual or organizations professional profile.

Many methods have been employed to ensure that all claims stated on a professional profile are true but that has proven to be time consuming and rigorous but because technology evolves on a daily basis, when other methods of verification and authentication fails or is inefficient due to one or two lapses, available technology can be improved on or new technology developed to make up for the inefficiency or gap.

While professional networking sites generate revenue from data gathered by users and the users do not share in such, a platform where the company and users mutually benefit from harvested data is fast becoming a demand.

SpringRole

Spring network is platform designed using Blockchain technology targeted at bringing back trust in the online business community by collating authentic and genuine users’ professional resume/profile on a global scale. This is aimed at making sure that the user accessing a particular information has no doubt about its credibility because he/she knows that the provider is verified by the platform to be professional and honest, thus placing data control back into the hands of all users with incentives attached.

SpringRole also aims at building a professional skills database where authentic job providers can access readily available job seekers based on their verified and authenticated educational background, work experience and skillsets thereby eliminating the rigors and time wastage in the employment process, bringing back confidence and trust to both the individuals and the Organization. Clients also get a platform where they can check and verify the authenticity of their contractors and vice versa.

How

SpringRole aims at truncating the attestation system by introducing easier and quicker methods.

a. Crowdsourcing individual reputation on a skillset (endorsements by others)

SpringRole will work on crowdsourcing reputation of users for a given claim on the profile, e.g. if I claim to be a good Mechanic, SpringRole will seek other users who share my skillset to attest that I am really a good mechanic. This is just like being judged or tested among and by your peers.

On this platform, endorsement is relatively cheap, the user can choose to accept or reject an attestation and the weight of the endorser is also taken into account in his/her endorsement, this is indeed very different from the conventional attestation methods.

b. Verifying and validating professional claims (Organizational attestation).

Because work experience and educational background are all linked to the blockchian, previous employers and Alma Mater will be able to attest to the credibility of a claimed experience or qualification by a user on this platform.

Institutions can also upload their student’s graduation records in batches onto the Spring Network platform thereby reducing the stress of individual attestation.

Certifying bodies and course providers can also attest to the credibility of certificates claimed to have been obtained from them by a user.

Token system

SpringRole will be running on the “SPRING” token, an ERC-20 compliant token which can be used within the platform for various activities because every action on the platform is linked to the SPRING.

With 10B tokens planned to be minted, users can earn these tokens by

a) Referrals (referring friends, completing their profiles and receiving a certain number of endorsements on the platform, they can also earn the token by referring a company but the company must accept and complete a transaction on the platform).

b) Endorsing others (which usually comes as of rewards).

c) Validating the professional profile of individuals and organizations (becoming a validator of a certain skillset, employment history or educational background

d) Completing your profile and getting an attestation

e) Working as a mediator in a freelancing project.

The SPRING tokens can be used to:

Unlike other systems where fraudulent activities can be perpetrated, the Spring network has developed a system where this is almost impossible because:

a. Tokens must be used for endorsements thereby removing spam and bogus endorsements.

b. It rewards users who gained higher reputation by getting an endorsement fr various users.

c. Endorsements have negligible if your score on a particular skillset is at the base level.

d. Scores are computed through your network.

e. If your endorsement gets rejected, then the cost of endorsement increases.
