RE: The Secret War — Privacy Coins in the Firing Line

Excellent news on Shapeshift moving to a DEX style exchange with decentralized protocols. This will be the way of the future, as traditional centralized exchanges are easy targets for government regulation.

Speaking of easy targets for government regulation, the new rules allowing banks to use stablecoins, while a remarkable step forward in crypto adoption, are also very likely a step forward in introducing government regulations into this space. Seems almost inevitable that they won't want to allow average joes to use the same financial tools that the banks use. The only way they'll use something truly decentralized like DAI is if it is the obvious winner in the free market, which it hasn't been, and isn't likely to become. Frankly, the banks and governments (but I repeat myself) like knowing there's someone they can go after if a mistake happens.

2021 is going to consist of a lot of crypto highs with this price movement and likely increased adoption, as well as crypto lows as governments get more and more involved, as there's no doubt they will try to keep us back from financial freedom.
