Light Trail Rush increasing speed for 2020 release

Futuristic racing game Light Trail Rush is gearing up for a release in June 2020. The game from blockchain games studio B2Expand is right now available on Steam Early Access. On Friday September 15th 2019 the developer is launching a sale for limited edition in-game assets. The game will also launch for Xbox One and Playstation 4.

Those who are interested in the game can acquire a beta key through the official website. All in-game assets bought in the sale or through the OpenSea marketplace can immediately be used inside the racing game.

Light Trail Rush is an arcade-style hybrid of vehicular brawler and free-flow space flight. The game supports multiplayer for eight people. The one in first place draws the track, while the other seven fight for the lead and push each other off the track. There is no finish line in these evolving races. The winner is the first to reach a certain score.

Currently gamers can test an early alpha version of the game. The French game studio is planning its closed beta test in April 2020, followed by an open beta test one month later. In June 2020 Light Trail Rush should be ready for public release on Steam, and presumably also Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

We will see more blockchain games reaching traditional gaming platforms in the coming year. Companies like Ubisoft, Square Enix, Sony and Microsoft are already investing time and money into the development of and experimentation with blockchain games. It's not without reason that Ubisoft has its Entrepreneur Lab solely focused on the development of blockchain games.

Legacy of B2Expand

B2Expand is not an unknown studio in the world of blockchain games. With Beyond The Void the studio already launched a free-to-play strategy game, which uses elements from MOBA and the classic RTS genre. This was basically their first wave of blockchain products, together with a marketplace companion app.

Even though the game is available on Steam, it's not a major hit. Steam users have mixed reactions to the game. The latest reviews are even claiming the game is 'dead', referring to the low amounts of players available for an online match.

In addition to their games B2Expand has developed a companion app. Nexarium is a decentralized application for gamers to buy, collect, sell and trade in-game items to and with others. The app is available for Android only.
