Chainmonsters Joins Flow Accelerator Program

The massively multiplayer online role playing game Chainmonsters will be among the first titles that will use the Flow blockchain. Game studio B-Side Games announced on Friday that their project joined the Flow Accelerator program. The game will launch in beta later this year.

Originally they planned Chainmonsters to utilize the Ethereum blockchain. However, CEO Max Weber found a better fit for his game in Flow, made by the company behind Cryptokitties.

"We are excited to be part of this next step in blockchain gaming and are looking forward to tokenize every Chainmon, item and cosmetic the players will earn throughout the game. - Maximilian Weber, CEO of B-Side Games"

Using the Flow blockchain, Chainmonsters will feature a player-driven economy and an in-game marketplace. However, players won't need any knowledge about blockchain technology.

When a new player starts playing the game, everything will look like a traditional onboarding mechanism. However, in the background everything they do inside the game world is stored on the blockchain. The game will create a temporarily blockchain account, and gamers will be able to claim their full Flow account whenever they want. Then they can start trading their in-game items outside the game.
