Brave doubles its user base

Brave Browser doubles its user base in just one year. In September 2018 the browser had 4 million users, and now more than 8 million people worldwide use Brave Browser every month. The privacy-focused browser is getting more traction as 2.8 million people use it daily. They announced these user numbers alongside an update about their advertisements. Brave's opt-in ads have a 14% click-through rate, compared to an industry average of two percent.

Brave users can sign up for the Brave Ad Rewards program. After signing up users might receive notifications for ads, which can be ignored or watched. These ads are tailored to the user, but without every sharing data with a third party. After watching or interacting with an advertisement users earn BAT.

Brave has been downloaded more than 30 million times worldwide. The browser is available for desktops and mobile devices. The browser is popular because it blocks advertisement and tracking cookies. Users earn BAT based on their monthly activity, while they also donate BAT to their most visited websites. Now that's a great incentive for people, let's see if Brave doubles its user base again in the coming months.

Still a small brave fish

Every month 4.5 billion people go on the internet. Most of the web traffic goes through Google Chrome. Google's browser dominates the market with a market share of 63 percent. Chrome is followed by Safari with 16 percent. In the grand perspective Brave is still a very small fish with its 8 million monthly users, which equals 0.18 percent of all browser users.

Brave browser verified content creators

Content creators can only earn BAT when they are verified publishers. Currently there are more then 290 thousand content creators. Most of them are on social platforms like Youtube (200 thousand), Twitch (15 thousand) and Twitter (28 thousand). There are 33 thousand websites that are confirmed content creators in the Brave ecosystem, which includes this one.

Recently Brave announced that The Wiki Foundation has partnered with them. That means that Wikipedia is now also earning BAT in order to keep their efforts going. Other verified websites include The Guardian, Sourceforge, The Washington Post, CoinmarketCap and LA Times.
