There was a new EthBattle version released recently that had one notable and groundbreaking change in it - player don't need to have initial ETH to play anymore.
Just to repeat - anyone now can play EthBalltle. The only prerequisite is the Metamask extension installed.
And a hilarious part is - if the player wins - reward in ETH will be deposited on his account automatically.
Sounds weird. How so?
No, it's not a scam neither the charity.
The whole idea is just to make the onboarding process as easy as possible, which always's been a problem for any decentralized application. Typically, a significant portion of potential users is cut out due to the simple reason - no ETH on the account to cover the transaction gas cost.
So, in the case of EthBattle the gas cost if covered by the creators of the game.
But how's about the bet? Sounds like the free chips in a casino?
Well, not precisely. Every bet is effectively a sort of a micro-loan, given to the 'ether-less' players. This loan will be taken back (at a scale of x3) in case of players wins.
What if the player loses?
This debt will stay unpaid. Bad luck.
The only limitation put over there is the limit of 5 free games. When the limit is reached, the player must use own ETH to cover the gas and the bet amount.
