So Bitcoin got rekt.. This is not something new to the world's most popular implementation of blockchain. In fact, other veteran Bitcoin hodlers view this as an opportunity to buy more.
Meanwhile, noobs (like myself) get dragged into this FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt). Do I sell? Do I hodl?
One thing is for sure.. The FUD gets to you and most of us sell to cut on losses. Either that or we become resilient to this cycle.
And those of us who become resilient, and learn in the process, find ways to earn while at the bear cycle. Earn you say? Yes, earn.. Here's how I do it.
I invested my bitcoins in an exchange called Graviex. By buying GravIO (or GIO) coins, you either get 50% off of trade fees or earn trading dividends. I chose the latter.
So how much do you earn? Dividends are calculated by the hour, depending on how much coins you hold and how much trading volume is executed in the exchange.
To set the dividend mode, just head over to the "Dividends" tab and set dividends to signed (just like below).
In my calculations, dividends would average about 0.05% per day. This really isn't much for some. But for me this is better than hodling and not doing anything. Entirely depends on your point of view.
If my calculations are correct, this brings it to a yearly ROI of about 13% and change.. At this estimate, it is better than bank interest rates. And since the earnings are deposited in the form of bitcoins, you may use the earnings to buy more GIO and the earnings compound.
And from the above screencap, dividends get credited to my account at around 5AM each day.
I believe in the long term stability and sustainability of this model. I hope you see its value as well.
