Accelerated life of crypto years

One thing I've noticed in following bitcoin and cryptocurrency spaces is the acceleration of time. We always hear of "dog years," where a dog's life span progresses faster than a human at, generally speaking, a 7X rate. So, a three year old dog is 21 in human years. Or, a 49 year old man is only seven in dog years.

Well, in "crypto years," I think the aging rate is even higher than dog years--crypto years advance 10X as compared to humans.

Been around?

Anyone who has been around bitcoin or any cryptocurrency has seen the timeline: a rumor, a few chats and comments on a bulletin board, a burst of energy and enthusiasm on social media, wild enthusiasm pre-launch, go-live-day!, brief ecstasy!, slow wane, sameness, technicalities, complaints, fixes, thanks, sameness, technicalities, complaints, hey! what's that?, did you about about...?, version 2.0 is coming out, mild excitement, 2.0 launch, okay we did it!, sameness, technicalities, sameness, drudgery, hey! what's that?, did you hear about...?

And then an announcement by a lead dev: "I've been going through many life changes and need to step away..."

Or, simply no announcement and just silence.......

And we non-devs, we're no better. How many altcoin/cryptocurrency projects, memecoins or blockchains have you been interested in a some point? How many now-inactive wallets for coin XYZ do you have stored somewhere on your computer or phone or on paper as a seed phrase.

Things happen fast in the crypto space. Ten times faster than in real, human life.

Why 10?

Why not? It's a good, round number. If a crypto project sticks around for three years, that's almost a full career in real life. A dev who has put three years into a single crypto project is like an IT person who has put in 30 years pulling wires at the home office of any Big Corp.

This isn't necessarily bad. This space evolves quickly. The natural selection of this space weeds out the unfit quickly, and that's good. But, it's just something we need to be aware of and be able to live with.

As an example, consider the memecoin frenzy that currently gathers a lot of hype. There is a new, super hot fresh memecoin nearly every day now, certainly every week. A memecoin that retains some energy beyond a couple of weeks is really a standout.

The original, Dogecoin, is only ten years old now. That's 100 crypto years. Maybe this is why Doge is seen as the old godfather of memecoins, the 100 year old guru of memes and why many of the memecoins are still dog-based or have hints of Doge in them.

My point

I'm not really sure what my point is here. I guess my point is this:

In this space, things change fast. Crypto years are 10X human years - coins and blockchains come and go. And, people and relationships come and go as well. We need to realize and expect this, technically, financially, and on a person-to-person human relationship level as well.
