While it seems unlikely there is a probability that it may happen, even a small one.
In such scenario, bitcoin will lost its status of "reserve cryptocurrency". Another cryptocurrency will be the new king of the market.
Which cryptocurrency could replace bitcoin? Maybe one of the next top cryptos like ripple, ethereum, Stellar, etc.
Trading would be paired against the new top crypto. In the meantime millions of dollars could be lost. However, the price of the new top crypto could move very high.
It is just my opinion for a hypothetical scenario.
