Divine Guidance (1)
āHeā¦sends them in the right direction.ā
Ps 25:8 TM
Throughout Scripture God talked to ordinary people, and Heāll talk to you too! He told Abraham when to leave home (See Ge 12:1), and Jacob when to go back home (See Ge 31:3). He told Elijah where to find food in the middle of a famine (See 1Ki 17:1-5). On two different occasions He stopped Paul from walking through what appeared to be a door of opportunity because He had something better in mind for him. The Bible says: āGod is fair and just; He corrects the misdirected, sends them in the right direction. He gives the rejects his hand, and leads them step-by-step. From now on every road you travel will take you to God. Follow the Covenant signs; read the charted directionsā (Ps 25:8-10 TM). Nothing is more important in life than being led by God. Other peopleās input should confirm and clarify what Godās already telling you. But until youāve heard from Him, youāll be tempted to think other peopleās ideas are Godās leadingāand that can hurt you. Youāre unique, and God has a unique plan and purpose for you. When youāre not sure which way to go, stand on His promise: āIāll take the hand of those who donāt know the way, who canāt see where theyāre going. Iāll be a personal guideā¦directing them through unknown country. Iāll be right there to show them what roads to take, make sure they donāt fall into the ditch. These are the things Iāll be doing for themāsticking with them, not leaving them for a minuteā (Isa 42:16 TM). It doesnāt get any better than that!
