Drought causes submerged island with statues of Buddha to re-emerge in the Yangtze

The Yangtze River is one of the great rivers of South China. This year's drought has lowered the river's waters, and a small previously submerged island has re-emerged.

It has three Bhuddist statues carved into it, and they are believed to date to the Ming dynasty, 600 years ago.
