The BFUJ-Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists has demanded the banning of Al Jazeera in Bangladesh, strongly condemning and protesting the continuous yellow journalism of Qatar-based Al Jazeera to protect the interests of anti-national special groups by tarnishing the image of Bangladesh at the international level.

In a statement issued on Friday, BFUJ President Mollah Jalal and Acting Secretary General Abdul Majid said that Qatar-based Al Jazeera has always been playing an anti-Bangladesh role. They have tried to make the war crimes trial process controversial in the international arena. They claim that the number of martyrs in the great liberation war of Bangladesh is 3 to 5 lakhs.
