Bengali Tradition | Laxmi Puja of a Bengali family | Alpana

Hey hivers! Today I am going to introduce to you with our rich Bengali culture.
Just after our biggest festival Durga puja, comes Laxmi puja. Devi Laxmi is the goddess of wealth, fortune, love, beauty, joy and prosperity. We Bengalis worship our goddess Laxmi on sharad purnima ( full moon of autumn ). This year it was on 30th October. Here I am sharing some of the pictures of the puja of my home.

Alpana or alpona is very common in bengali houses during this puja. It refers to an art or painting done with hand. The liquid paste used for Alpana is rice powder mixed in water. All the alpanas of our home are made by me and my mother.
