The Education of Brewing Beer

Ok, here is what I got from research and looking at videos for learning to brew. The ingredients needed: water, yeast: malt/barley, and hops are A MUST.....get that. Recipe, as when do you add hops, boil malt, full grain vs. extract, pitch.....my head hurts. Don't get me wrong, you can order a brew kit and it will walk you through. All I'm saying is that there is no basic recipes. You can create your own by adding malts when you want, hops when you want, fermentation time (preferable at least 4-6 weeks). I do love that its such a learning process with ingredients, terms, conversion of liquids, and making up beer names.

Again, have to say thank you to Northern Brewing for setting me up and since then, thank you to Southern Brewing & Home-brew Shop (Tampa, FL) and Funny Buddha Lounge Home-brew (Boca Raton, FL) for not making me feel intimidated about being a "beginner".

So far we have a Single Hop IPA- kit from Northern Brewing. We then came up with a Cold Brew Coffee Stout which we developed being bottle soon.

More to come.

Cheers friends
