Popular classified advertising website Backpage now accepts bitcoin cash

This one takes me back to the old times, where bitcoin's acceptance was the challenge, and not making a ton of money. Backpage, a popular classified advertising website that has in the past come under government fire for problems conected to its adult section , began accepting bitcoin years ago.

At the time, peer-to-peer marketplace Paxful helped people learn how to use bitcoin to get their ads on the website and keep surviving in light a government crackdown. The move was documented on Paxful's YouTube channel.

Now, a few years after Paxful's move, Backpage started accepting Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and giving those who use the cryptocurrency on the website a 15% bonus on their purchases, over the bonus they give to Litecoin and Ethereum users, for example.

Although the ebsite is somewhat controversial, the move has been celebrated by some as the adoption of Bitcoin Cash is seemingly increasing. The cryptocurrency is set to be used for micropayments and peer-to-peer transactions and to store value.

At press time, Bitcoin Cash is currently trading at $1,772 and is down 4% in the last 24 hour period.
