Hey Steemit! How are you?
I dropped off the radar this week, but I have been music-busy and am very excited about a new chapter:
This book (by Stella Benson) is a textbook in the Clinical Musicianship program, but was available for purchase on Amazon. I am not in a position to apply to the program, but I thought, “why not?” when it came to studying on my own and seeing what could be applied to my music ministry practice. I am hoping to get some books on ‘sound healing’ as well.
I have been playing the Irish whistles a LOT — my poor fretting hand thumb got re-injured again and until it heals my ukulele-wielding is limited — and am quite looking forward to playing them in church tomorrow. We’ll be doing “Be Thou My Vision” (one of my favorite Irish hymns) and a new piece, “His Mercy is More,” by Matt Papa, performed by Matt Boswell.
It is strange: this is the first time in almost 15 years that I have stood up on stage and not had a stringed instrument in my hands. I love music, and I adore sharing its’ healing and joyfulness with others, but my own self-consciousness is such that I have frequently gravitated toward instruments I could physically hide behind (guitar, ukulele, and the like). Standing up on the church stage this morning for rehearsal, I felt more vulnerable than I have in years... and also more alive. ❤️ I feel like this new chapter will be very exciting. I am eager to see the ways the Holy Spirit leads me to share my gifts from here on out.
