New spacesuit will rescue astronauts who become lost in space
Patient filed for suit that features a ‘take me home’ button.

In February 1984, shuttle astronaut Bruce McCandless became the first astronaut to float in space untethered, thanks to a jetpack-like device called the Manned Manuevering Unit, or MMU.NASA
Being "lost in space" is a nightmare scenario for astronauts, but they soon could be sleeping easier.

Engineers have filed a patent for a spacesuit self-return system to ensure spacewalking astronauts are safe, even if none of their crewmates can rescue them.

This system is, essentially, a "take me home" button.
