ASEAN HIVE LOGO REDESIGN: I tried to make a logo design for the ASEAN Hive Community

Image Created using CANVA.

I don't remember the last time I created a logo because I participated in different events where I published blogs. I admit that I am not good at making things like this, but I still try my best to make some and participate in this challenge because I think this is still a good experience for me and I find it so challenging.

Making a logo is not as easy as 1, 2, and 3 because you need to think of a design, a concept, and how you will explain the meaning behind it. You need to focus on imagining the art if you are going to start on the objects and design of your logo.

When I decided to join this challenge, there were a lot of things that were difficult for me that I couldn't manage well. But I'm not ranting, okay? I loved joining in on this challenge, though it was difficult for me. I enjoyed the difficulties that I experienced because it was a great experience and it was a good opportunity for me to share something I made with everyone.

So on this blog for today, I will share with you my three logo entries for this challenge. I will explain why I chose to make a logo like these and the meaning behind why I chose these kinds of designs.

ENTRY NUMBER 1:

We all know that the Asean Hive Community is a community where we can share a lot of things about our Asian countries. This community is where we can share or write about our experiences, traditions, foods, places, opinions, etc. about Asian countries.

When I was a beginner here on Hive, and I am just a newcomer to this community, I couldn't understand this community. However, after reading the posts of the users or members of this community, I can finally understand what this community is for. I enjoyed reading some posts, especially the entries of the users or members when there are some challenges like this and I could learn some things about different Asian countries.

Anyway, why am I telling you this? Because this is where I got the idea for making this logo.

Many people around the world joined HIVE, and this community is one of the places where we can see a lot of people who are talented in writing and who can also show off their talent in making artistic things. That's why this is the first design that I made.

If we talk about the design that I chose to insert or put in the logo, I was thinking about the community, the goal, and the people. If this is what this community is all about, then of course the logo's color should be based on the world's colors, which are blue for water and green for nature, which is mostly what the community is all about: the places of different Asian countries. I appreciate the talent and intelligence of the Hivers in this community around the world too. If how confident they were in sharing their talent, not just in writing blogs about their country by participating in some blogging contests, but also in sharing art from different parts of Asia.

Actually, there are these two logos that I also made after I made this one. This is just an optional design.

The left side is so plain for me. Because I just stick with these three reasons why the design is like this: Just like the first logo that I made, I was thinking of the "A" as a meaning of this community's name, and it's also considered a pen, which is symbolized as the users of the HIVE and the talent of how intelligent the Hivers write some blogs. Meanwhile, on the right side, I don't know if it's better than what I uploaded above because the words are so small for me and they're plain too. I couldn't make it big because I needed it to look simple, which is why I think it became boring.

ENTRY NUMBER 2:

This logo's design was different from my first entry, but the meaning is not far different from my first entry. Because the triangle and the hive logo were also the people or the users of HIVE. And I just made the name or word "ASEAN" for two people who communicate in the virtual world, which was symbolic to us.

ENTRY NUMBER 3:

And this last entry of mine is just a random thought. Since Asean Hive is always about Asian countries, mostly, it's all about nature. I tried to form a symbol that describes the ASEAN hive community at the top, just like the logos in the films, and the name of the community is on the bottom of that symbol. And actually, this idea came from the first thing that I thought of, which was the word "SEA" in the name of the ASEAN hive community. And I was satisfied that the logo that I imagined came out very well.

If we talk about the fonts, this is where I became problematic. Not just here, but it's also the same situation as my first and second entries that I made before this. I don't know which fonts I should use because sometimes they are not suitable, sometimes they don't match the design that I wanted, and sometimes they are plain and boring. But it is a good thing that there is this kind of font and that it can be matched to the design that I want after how many hours of thinking and deciding which font I should use, and I am glad and satisfied that the logo that I imagined turned out good and nice.

CONCLUSION...

But you know, after making these three logos, I think they are not suited to the theme of the Asean Hive community. Because I get used to their old logo, which is what they are still using right now. And changing the color, fonts, and all of the design makes me nervous because I don't know if the users will like them since I am not good at designing. Of course, there are still some talented users out there who can also share their own logos for this community.

Still, thanks to @justinparke for this new challenge because I enjoyed challenging myself to make a logo today!

I hope that everyone enjoyed reading this blog of mine too. Thanks for reading! You are free to comment with your thoughts about the logos that I made.
