The date was 23rd and 24th of March 2018, when an event of ComiCon Asia 2018, Manila, Philippine has gathered comic artists from some of ASEAN countries.
They were:
- Boboy Yonzon (*Organizer, Philippine8)
- Adi Nazri (Malaysia)
- Toni Masdiono (Indonesia)
- Jerry Hinds (Singapore)
- Nguyen Tanh Phong (Vietnam)
With witnesses namely:
- Dr. John Lent (U.S.A)
- Egai Fernandez
- Pauline Laping
- Harvey Talibao
The initiative of this committee setup was to gather representative comic book artists from each of these countries from ASEAN (as a start) and set up a committee to basically help the artists from the involved countries to expand their market for their comics as well as to rebrand the comics onto wider map.
Local comic book activists and enthusiast will have a brighter future where there will be no more obligations that limit their creativity as the transactions of import and export will be much easier and better cost effectiveness.
Hope by the end of this year, every initiative born with the written manifesto will be able to get executed.
