Happy Ascension Feast day to all Christians in this Hive community.
Ascension is a holy day of obligation like Sunday. Apart from Sunday there are four other days of obligation we Roman Catholics observe in Nigeria which are Christmas which is the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, December 25, All Saints which is the remembering of all saints of God Almighty November 1, Assumption which is the day our Blessed Virgin Mary was assumed into heavens and Ascension which is the day our Lord Jesus Christ Ascended into heaven.
The celebration has no date in particular,it is always celebrated 40 days after Easter or ten days before pentecost Sunday.
After Jesus rose from death on Easter Sunday he was with the disciples teaching them for 40 days. He then then told them that he would go back to his Father but he would send them the mediator of all things which is the Holy spirit.
We are all expected to attend the holy Mass today and we did and were felt spiritually.
Jesus Christ told them behold am with you till the end of time he told them although he has left them physically but he is always with them in form of the holy spirit.He left them and there were now happy and worship him in the temple. The holy spirit later came 10 days which is the pentecost Sunday.
Ascension is a great feast day in which we are expected to attend mass and not go to work, we are also to rejoice and be happy for our Lord Jesus Christ is living us to send us the Holy spirit.
According to our Reverend Father we are to go back cook rice sleep well enjoy ourselves, those playing balls can also do that.
Today is indeed a great day and we thank God Almighty for sending his only begotten son Jesus Christ to die for our Sins and we hope the feast day of Ascension will bring us the gift of holy spirit in Jesus Mighty Name Amen 🙏.
