The most intelligent animal in the ocean with their advanced intelligence, dexterity, adaptability and which is already one of the most resourceful creatures on our planet with their ability to solve complex problems, use tools and even manipulate objects. It lives for barely two years. And that's no coincidence. Three hearts. Nine brains. And an intelligence that seems to come from another galaxy. This earthly creature is not only a fascinating animal, it is possibly the biggest "mistake" evolution has made... or its most calculated move. Because nature gave it everything it needed to dominate the planet, and then imposed a time limit. Researchers from Current Biology discovered something unsettling: when a mother octopus finishes caring for her eggs, her own optic gland activates an irreversible chemical signal. It's not an illness. It's not an accident. It's her **DNA** ordering her to shut down. The result is brutal: each generation is born alone, learns alone, and dies before it can teach anything to anyone. No history.
