Hellsing Art Collection & Appreciation

This is a collection of fan art works for Hellsing, of which I feel deserve merit and appreciation. Give the artists’ your thanks and check out their other works as well. I may eventually do a highlight for one of these artists themselves :).

Hellsing Alucard
By NEXLAMAR

This is how Fan Art ought to look: take a character and their traits and utilize them as the basis for an artwork that doesn’t look like a screenshot of the anime or manga, per se. This is what I look for and I think is a great challenge for artists’ to try and attempt. This work has a great sense of movement, which really brings out and expresses the ferocity of Alucard. His hand gesture, hair sway, his usual crazy grin, all of his killer traits are there. There’s not much depth or perspective, but the work doesn’t require that as the focus is on the character which encompasses the entire composition. It’s awesome seeing the Beastial variant of Alucard, which he uses to defeat his enemies, in such detail; the implied texture works wonders on the complexion and surface. Overall, just a great piece of work. Nexlamar doesn’t have a huge gallery on deviantart, and I didn’t see any other links to he may no longer be active but at least we can relish in the splendor of his work.

Hellsing Chained
By Julia Lichty

Julia’s style is very warm, I want to say. She has such a varied amount of works that her technique has been stressed in all the right ways. Julia really developed the features on the characters here, Seras and Integra, with great lighting and proportions. There’s not a lot of exaggerated features, though the hair and and shadows really stand out to me. Integra’s hair has quite the volume on it, and you can see the space created with the shadows on her forehead; it’s very tasteful and adds needed depth. Having just enough depth really gives your artwork an extra edge to it. Integra is looking smashing as always, very regal in her composure. Seras looks more, normal? I guess. She can be a bit goofy in the anime/manga but I like this somber look to her. Only seeing the extremes in a character creates an imbalance that is hard to associate on a human level. Julia has out-done herself with this piece, I really enjoy it. Give her some of your appreciation :)

Alucard
By Anna Podedworna

Holy fug. This is how it’s done folks. Seriously wowed by this piece, it’s hard to come to terms as to where to start! This might be the best fan art I’ve seen, as a whole and not just for Hellsing. The composition is what really brings it all together; the immense density of form and texture variance builds up to a crescendoing train of mania. The horrific expression on the maws of teeth coming out from Alucard’s coat give a serious sense of brutality. Imagine a print of this, how it feels to have Alucard piercing your soul with that expression. Alucard’s face is what got to me first in this; he really feels complete in his collected killing-mode. His personality shines through but without some of the comical or exaggerated energy you get in the anime. He feels a lot more “real” in this work.

Seras Victoria Hellsing Ultimate
By Adam Isailovic

I’m glad to see Adam has done some Hellsing Fan Art! I’m a lover of Adam’s work, he’s seriously talented. This piece is a great example of a night-time scene; get the moon and the stars involved and you’ve got a wonderous display of light to play with. Yes, Seras’s clothing IS that tight in the anime but Adam decides to go tighter haha. Showing the folds in clothing is fun to do and is a great display of technique and technical acumen. You can really sense the weight of her gun as well, and this isn’t even the big cannon she uses later on in the show. The proportions are fantastic, which is something Adam does very well. Take a look at the hair for a moment; Isn’t that just fascinating? While the hair is a bit shiny, it’s perfect in my eyes. The whole flow of the hair does well and the layering of colours effectively brings it all together. Add in all the minor details placed throughout and a straight-forward background and you’ve got a finished piece! Give Adam your appreciation, he deserves it :)

Just call me Sir

Believe it or not there is a huge fan-base for Hellsing and loads of cosplayers. The Hellsing characters are very popular and there’s such a variety of personality and clothing involved, it’s quite fun to cosplay as :D. This is a great shot of Integra, a character which you’d think wouldn’t be as popular but she’s pretty bad ass in the show; most of the characters are bad ass in their own way, and Integra runs the Hellsing Family Corp which has fought vampires and all sorts of monsters for generations. I’d say if anything, Integra is pretty amazing as a character and this Cosplay of her fantastic.

Thanks for reading through my post! I'll be doing more content like this. if you have suggestions let me know :) I will also have content geared around creative writing techniques, crypto, philosophy and everything else i'm into :D
