This art is a very old art in the world, the first known by the Nabataeans after discovering the hourglass

This art began to spread to all the Arab and foreign countries, especially for all areas where the basic material (quartz sand or sandstone) is available.

The presence of this type of sand in Syria in the Qalamoun mountains north of Damascus (Qatifah) made the owners of this region practicing this craft.

Women in ancient times, particularly in this region, have been practicing this craft for patience and tolerance, as well as other handcrafts such as embroidery.

In addition to compressing the sand inside the bottle, "sand" is applied to prevent the destruction of the sand-painted view at the sudden stirring or when charging. Finally, "We close the bottle from the top to prevent the leakage of the sand, thus maintaining the internal view. And ensure its survival for several years.
