Art Basel Miami has surprised, as every year, becoming a true reference for the world of art in the world, however, one of the projects that most surprised its attendees was the commissioner, for the third time for the fair, by Audemars Piguet : Slow-Moving Luminaries by artist Lars Jan.

The installation on a large scale and immversive (and a tradition in the projects commissioned by Audemars Piguet), is the response of the artist to the battle that is experienced between a state of contemplation and one of crisis. Slow-Moving Luminaries allowed those who witnessed it to be part of the work, choreographing their own experience and feeling free to make it part of the installation. .

Installed facing the sea of Miami Beach, the two-story pavilion was built in the form of a labyrinth in one of its parts, where the first section was filled with minimalist figures raised by mechanical systems. Also, the attendees experienced the vision of floating buildings through windows and a film of a building flooding into the main part of the installation. In the final part of the route, a pool covered the roof of the labyrinth.

A large SOS signal made reference to a maritime danger signal; The Audemars Piguet Art Commission seeks to contribute to a global artistic innovation by supporting contemporary artists who experiment with ideas related to complexity, precision, technology and science.

The artist Lars Jan said: "Audemars Piguet has been a unique and surprising collaboration not only in terms of generosity of elements and a supportive working relationship that we have had from the beginning, but also because of the freedom they gave me to complete my vision. for this work, this synchronicity has made this challenge a pleasure "
