#3 - Mikepicker's Pixel Art

Hi everybody!

As promised I'll publish the main character for my upcoming game Zoombit. So, let's present him quickly:

Meet Steeman

In the last article I showed you an example of spritesheet-based animation of a zombie. This time our little guy here is a bit more complex.

Here it is its spritesheet:

As you can see, we have several actions here. Let's decompose them.

The first one, is the idle animation:

Followed by a running animation:

Shooting:

Jumping:

Dying very brutally:

Stabbing:

In the next article I'll show you an example of background scrolling with a special technique called parallax.

If you would like to test your pixel art skills I highly suggest you one of these 3 softwares:
PyxelEdit - paid
Aseprite - paid
GraphicsGale - This one is free

Both PyxelEdit and Aseprite are very professional. I found PyxelEdit less complete than Aseprite. On the other hand, GraphicsGale is totally free but it is not so modern.

Thanks for reading, and don't forget to follow and upvote :)
