Hi everyone, one of my friends is going to get married, so I wanted to create some original wish card for this nice couple. I decided to show you the whole process, so maybe some of you will be inspired.
You will need:
- watercolor paper A5, thicker paper in a cream color, or light shade of mint, or pink in a size A4
- decorative scissors or paper cutter
- watercolors, brushes and water
- glue
- gold pen
🔵 STEP 1
We need to cut the watercolor paper first. It Should be in a size 20x13cm. We can use decorative scissors, or a cutter, so the edges will be nicer.
🔵 STEP 2
We can start to paint. If you want, you can draw a simple sketch, but this painting is quite easy, so it is no need for it. First use a lighter color.
🔵STEP 3
at the centre of a rose, it is the easiest way to paint it. Then we can just add petals.
🔵STEP 4
After painting a first light layer we wait and add darker colors in some parts.
🔵STEP 5
Now we can start with the background. First paint sepals. We can use two shades of green and more water, so the light green spill around and connect with the light blue in the background.
🔵 STEP 6
Use darker blue and a little bit of brown in the left corner. The background defines the rose edges. Some part of the background can stay white. If we use more water, the edges will be sharp.
🔵 STEP 7
We can prepare the paper now. It should be in a size A4, so we can just fold it half. It is nice to add some ornaments, so the writing will be between them.
🔵 STEP 8
The card is almost done. We need only to stick the papers together. Add glue on the back side of a watercolor paper. Just at the edges and a little bit in the middle.It is not necessary to coat the whole paper. Be careful of positioning. You can set the card between books so it sticks together better.
It is done! Now you can add your writing :)
