I will take you through the creation process. I spun most of the yarn on my Ashford Kiwi

I usually start with a shape I like and build it up from there.

On this one I started with the circle that you see in orange. When I start a piece I usually have no idea how it will turn out. I make ponchos, sweaters, capes, capelets, and it usually takes a while of working before I know what item I am going for.

At this point I am still unsure about what it wants to be. So I just keep working.

Here you can see it is starting to take a shape. I've decided to make it a capelet. So I put it on my dress form and start shaping it.

When I have it to the shape I want it's time to wash and block it.
