The name of my series of t- shirts is Ask Sophia in honor
of my daughter. I began this series of old school silk screened
t - shirts. I began this series with the message that she is authentically being herself, she is beautiful and powerful and deserves to be respected for her feelings and her beliefs. And my drawings, I create images with words that empower and encourage young girls and women of color. I want the images to instill confidence in love for themselves. For the past year, I have collaborated with my daughter focus on black and brown women’s accomplishments and be accountable for my part in this male dominated society.
