The Chosen Sight - Abuse is everywhere and it happens to anyone

She’s standing in a corner, her hands behind her back.
Her eyes are in the right place, wishing they were not.

The temperature begins to rise,
She feels her face get warm.
The screams, the yells, the angry tones surpass her only voice.
She’s asked an answer in demand, but her words aren’t even heard.

I step out of her body, I can see her standing there.
She doesn’t know what to say, while she stands in frozen space.
I try to understand, why her body acts this way.
It will not hear, or see, or speak,
Or respond to the alien there.

I know it’s painful what is said, and this is why she acts this way.
Her eyes have moved from face to hand, to avoid the painful man.

So, remember clearly what I’ve said, to understand her in every way:
“She’s standing in a corner, her hands behind her back.
Her eyes are in the right place, wishing they were not.”
