Artificial intelligence as a way of making art has become massively popular in recent times, but it has also served as a way to get closer to those images that are impossible to know. Thus, recently, the photographer Alper Yesiltas showed a series of images that imagine what artists who died decades ago would look like today. Now, visual artist Hidreley Diao has gone even further, using artificial intelligence to imagine what historical figures like Mona Lisa, Vincent van Gogh, Cleopatra, William Shakespeare, Jesus Christ and more would look like today.

Humanity has come to know these figures through the works of painters and sculptors, but the truth is that the historical personalities that the brazilian artist reimagined lived many centuries before the invention of photography, which is why this technology has allowed to capture its main features and at the same time update them to the fashions of the 21st century in terms of makeup, clothing. To imagine the appearance of Jesus Christ, the artist was based on the Shroud of Turin, while for the Gioconda he used the famous portrait of Leonardo Da Vinci and showed the woman with a slight smile and slanted eyes.

In addition, the artist showed the image of Vincent van Gogh as a middle-aged man with long red hair and a beard, using a painted self-portrait of the painter as a guide. As for historical women, Nefertiti was portrayed by artificial intelligence as a black woman with prominent eyes and eyebrows and tightly tied hair. Cleopatra, on the other hand, would be a white woman, with green eyes and brown hair, while Aphrodite would be blonde, with a hippie chic braid in her hair, light eyes and nude makeup.
