Aceh people should be proud of the traditional house of Aceh (rumoh Aceh) because this traditional house has its own uniqueness with this building. Almost all sides of this building have a meaning tersemdiri. This 3-room house has 16 columns, and the 5-room type has 24 columns.
Rumoh Aceh is not just a shelter, but an expression of belief in God and adaptation to nature. The adaptation of the Acehnese people to their environment can be seen from the form of the Aceh formulas on stilts, the supporting poles made of wood of choice, the walls of the boards, and the roofs of rumbia. Natural use can also be seen when trying to combine parts of the house that do not use nails but using pegs or rope from rattan. Although only made of wood, roofed rumbia leaves, and do not use nails, rumoh Aceh can last up to 200 years.
In this modern era, aceh people still maintain the preservation of this traditional house. In the city of Banda Aceh, the house of Cut nyak dien aceh hero is still awake to the original, not only exterior, interior and furniture and natural products such as rice belonging to Cut Nyak Dien still remain intact as in the mass of yore.
The area of Aceh which is still widely used traditional house is Pidie area. Very many houses are still encountered in the area. Even the people in the area are making customary homes for inheritance to their married children.
