Ravi Shankar was born. He made Indina Music and sitar world famous. He traveled thw world for concerts, inspired lots of musicians. He gave sitar lessons to George Harrison. Harrison invited him to Woodstock in 1969.

Shankar called Woodstock performance as disaster. " You have to listen to Indian music with a clear mind. You don't need to take drugs to blow up, this music is gonna blow you up. Do you listen to Bach or Beethoven like this? " He told that the audience in Woodstock were like the hippopotamus in mud.

He didn't make concerts in Usa for a while. After, he preferred classic halls not pop-rock activities.

In 1971, at the beginning of a concert with another sitar master Ali Khan, they were tuning up their sitars. The audience started a crazy applause. He said "If you like this so much, what are you gonna do when we start playing?"
