Fruit carving taken to another level!

The mukimono began in China about 2000 years ago, for the decoration of dishes and events. At the moment the carving is continued in the usual way in restaurants and big events.

Thailand, this art was imported from China in 1364, when one of the palace princesses decorates a floating lamp (used in a traditional Thai ceremony) with figures carved from fruits and vegetables. When he sees it, the king is moved and impelled this art for its use exclusively in the court. In 1932, the art of carving was "democratized", when the ruling king decided to extend it by forming the school teachers. Thus, it becomes a more of the official arts, such as painting, music, dance, etc ... The difference between the Chinese and Thai stature, is based, basically, on the reasons made. The Chinese make figures and allegorical images to their stories and legends, while the Thais mainly make flowers.

THANKS FOR WATCHING.
