Grace Fournier be Da Bomb!

Hi dearest Steemians, I am at an exciting opening on the drive featuring the work of my good friend Grace Fournier who paints in acrylics. She is a feminist like me, unafraid to confront people with their fears by showcasing a figurative style with an abstract edge. Provoking the public to question them on their apprehesion of nudity, Grace is a life model herself and has actually convinced me to use my voice as a life model to defend the ideal of nudism. Together, we are willing to explore the male female dynamic with nude performance art and video. This project in the works is coming along nicely and will be released on DTube by June. Show some love for this work in progress where feminism meets nudity in the comments please, any validation that you all want to push the envelope would be great!

She at times shows the darkness in humanity, the guilt and the shame don't make this female protagonist shallow in any way. Some brush strokes are deliberately provokative in that they "ruin" the crisp silhouettes that your mind paints in front of you. This encounter does not favour the male over the female gaze, it is a universal tale of tourment but also hope, as the women of Fournier keep their dignity. She brings an androginy to these figures which remind us of The Scream by Munch. This is where the intelligent color schemes come into play, to generate an emotionnal response in the viewer. Pain, reflexion, love, affection, these are the emotions these women dream of with their sublime body language.

One can't help but reminisce about the roaring 20s seeing these elongated bodies so pensive yet sensual; giving themselves entirely to the viewer. Don't get me wrong, the women, bearing an uncanny resemblance to each other do not give themselves easily. They deliver a part of their inner being like the poet, her soul to be captured by the ear where her poem falls. It is genuine, it is true, this act of pure expression which is selfless in nature. Many of these women are shielding themselves with their arms perhaps because being nude make them vulnerable to the viewer. They do so with utter sensuality. Fournier is giving us a taste of her own introspections which explains why the body language has to evoke some mystery. This to me is the expression of a strong female who understands the sacrifices a woman has to make in order for her voice to be heard. She could be a mother, a sister, a mistress, a lesbian, an artist and there is just no way you will remain indifferent.
