Johny Depp is an actor that i have drawn the most compared to other famous people and celebrities. The reason is as simple as it can get. He just has the shape of the face very suitible for portraits and the tone of his skin helps to learn shading properly. This portrait was my very first portrait of him. Still some rough lines can be seen and just ton of small things i did wrong. Also his style and the fact that he is a lot of times wearing i hat,and he has a little bit of beard too,which is combined in one portrait. Gives a great chalange for am artist to deal with all of this together.
For me personally it has always been harder to draw a man portrait. I think because the skin is not as smooth and the shading takes more time. There are more small things you have to do and focus on than when you are drawing a woman. Of course it does not work in all cases but for me about 2 out of 3 will be like that.
